SCHOLARSHIP
Each year the Tehama County Republicans award graduating Tehama County high school seniors with scholarships which not only reflect their academic success but also their commitment to community service.
Each scholarship is to be awarded to worthy recipients who have displayed an outstanding example of community service and who will pursue a course of study leading to a post-secondary degree or certificate from a college, university, community college, or vocational school. The school where such studies are to be pursued shall be accredited and/or approved by the appropriate State Department of Education.
Applicants must be a member of the current year graduating class from any public, private, charter, or home school located in Tehama County who has maintained at least a 3.0 grade point average in high school. The deadline for applications is APRIL 15 of each year.

Tehama County Republicans Award Three Students for Community Service: Rylee Henry, a student at Corning High School, Parker Heitman, a student at Los Molinos High School, and Bryce Owens, a student at Red Bluff High School, are the recipients of this year’s Tehama County Republican Community Service Award. Henry is the daughter of Brett and April Henry of Corning. She plans on attending Brigham Young University, Idaho, and studying hospitality. Heitman is the son of Ricky Fimea and Regina Farrara of Los Molinos. He plans to attend Shasta or Yuba College to study diesel mechanics and equipment operations. Owens is the son of Matthew and Reana Owens of Red Bluff. He plans on attending Butte College to study agricultural business and cattle ranching.“As a committee, we feel this was one way we can invest in the future,” said Terrie Lynn Runolfson, Tehama County Republican Chair. “Most scholarships reward those students who stand out academically, and that’s important, but we also want to honor those who do a lot to better the community in which they are part as well.”

Past Tehama County Republican Scholarship Award Recipients 2023 - Ava Peters of Los Molinos and Lane Duarte of Red Bluff each received $500. Totaling $1,000. 2020-22 Postponed because of Covid-19 2019 - Angel Finefrock of Corning, Dylan Hausman of Los Molinos, and Olivia Henderson of Corning will each receive $500. Stephanie Mills and Elizabeth Fuller both of Corning each received $250. Totaling $2,000. 2018 - Daniel Crispino of Red Bluff and Abigail Fierce of Corning, each received $750 scholarships. Totaling $1,500. 2017 – Gabriel Fregoso of Red Bluff and Jennifer Silvera of Los Molinos will each received $1,000 scholarships. Totaling $2,000. 2016 - Jesus Madrigal of Orland, received $700. Daisy Alston of Orland, Tessa Betenbaugh, of Orland, Sarah Grine of Corning and Gillian Celho of Gerber, received $200 awards. Totaling $2,000.
Islyn Bogarin, of Corning, is the daughter of Ruben and Mayra Bogarin. She plans to attend California State University, Chico and obtain a degree in Communication Science and Disorders in order to become a speech pathologist. She received a scholarship of $500.
Hayley Byrd, of Gerber, is the daughter of Ty and Regina Byrd. She plans to attend Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas and study Agriculture and communication. She received a scholarship of $500.
Jacey Pray of Red Bluff, is the daughter of Jay and Carrie Pray. She plans on attending Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo and studying nutrition to become a registered dietician. She received a scholarship of $500.
